The history of the establishment of the church begins with the call of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the result of a movement that has continued since February 1920, when the SIM evangelists, who had their origins overseas, traveled and sacrificed in the land of strangers, bringing the gospel message to the people from the darkness of darkness to the glorious light.
The torch of the gospel, which was lit by these few evangelists, was lit by the amazing dedication of the young people of each village and their dedication to the ministry of the gospel. In a short time, the gospel message spread like wildfire, dispelling the darkness of pagan worship and recording remarkable spiritual and social changes in every community. When compared to the progress and prosperity that we have achieved now, it is very surprising; amazing.
Because of the wonderful plan and work of our God, as briefly described above, as well as the pioneering work of the missionaries and the tireless struggle and sacrifice of the early fathers, today the Ethiopian Life Church is fulfilling its mission, given to it by its guardian and leader, to spread its kingdom on earth and win souls to eternal life, throughout our country and in international forums.
The Church provides comprehensive service by deploying tens of thousands of ministers and workers in structures ranging from headquarters to localities to fulfill its primary purpose of existence on earth, which is to bring souls to salvation and expand the kingdom of God.
The Social Security Commission of the Ethiopian Life Church was established on March 22, 1999, in order to alleviate the economic and social challenges faced by the ministers and workers of various structures of the church when they retire after completing their service. In accordance with the decision to govern the ministers and workers of the church under the Pension Security Act, the Pension Directive was taken from the same sister church and the Government Social Security Pension Proclamation and amended accordingly. Its eligibility was confirmed by the lawmakers and was established at the head office from February 1, 2000. Since the spiritual and social development work of our church has been expanding, the number of ministers and workers has increased, so the head office has been opened and two branches have been established in two large areas. By opening offices, the church is working under the supervision of a board and an executive committee, including a large number of members in the social security fund, and is providing social security benefits to more than 100 fathers and mothers.
