Women’s Ministry

About Department

Introduction

From its earliest days, women in the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC) served faithfully alongside their husbands and brothers. Yet their contributions often went unrecognized until the establishment of the national women’s ministry in 1990. By 1992, the ministry had developed an organized structure from local to national levels, enabling women to grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, and actively impact their homes, churches, and communities.

Over the years, the department has organized ministries and training offices, strengthened the capacity of women leaders, empowered them within denominational structures, initiated vocational and ministerial training centers, provided scholarships to women ministers and needy students, supported evangelists’ children, and offered contextual training materials equipping women for greater influence in both society and the church.

Mission

To serve God by equipping and empowering women for holistic growth, so that they may fulfill the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ and make the Gospel accessible to all.

Vision

To see the women of the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church become strong Disciples of Christ—living transformed Christian lives, serving as Ambassadors of Christ, and acting as ministers of revival through their exemplary witness wherever God places them.

Goal

To honor God by enabling women in Ethiopia and beyond to hear the Gospel, believe in Christ Jesus, become Ambassadors of Christ, experience holistic transformation, and bring positive influence to the church and the wider community.
